Studio Update: Reopening After COVID-19 (Updated)

Updated: Jun 8

Hey Glow Fam,

The reopening of nonessential business is creeping up on us. Maryland Governor, Larry Hogan, has not announced an exact date on when businesses will resume, but has mentioned a recovery plan. Click the link here for the article: https://governor.maryland.gov/2020/04/24/governor-hogan-introduces-safe-gradual-and-effective-maryland-strong-roadmap-to-recovery/

I want to inform you all of the new policies that I will be implementing to ensure a smooth transition of getting back to lashes and brows. There is a comment section below where you may ask questions if any information is unclear. Please understand these new policies are for our safety and I will no longer be making any accommodations as I have done in the past. We must always remember the importance of our health and safety.

Let's get started!

I didn't forget what I said... EVERYONE IS GETTING A NEW SET OF LASHES!

"If your eyelash extensions are all gone, don't worry! I've got complimentary #CoronavirusRelief lash sessions in the works! You will not be charged, so yes, it is FREE! No strings attached, however, a tip is encouraged!"

1. I will not officially reopen until Tuesday, June 9, 2020.

I will not be going out of town anymore. Also, please keep in mind that I am located inside of the mall and I do not have a storefront. Even if it is announced that nonessential business will reopen, the governor is opening Maryland in stages. This means I will reopen when the mall reopens.

UPDATE 6/8/2020: Unfortunately, I will not be reopening tomorrow, June 9, 2020. Please click the link for more details: https://www.fbglow.com/post/studio-update-i-am-not-open-yet-i-am-stage-3-of-md-recovery-plan

2. All clients who had scheduled appointments from March 16 thru April will be contacted directly by me (via phone call) to reschedule your appointment.

I will start making phone calls as soon as the Maryland Governor announces nonessential business may open again, not anytime before that. I want to avoid confusion and disorganization so I will be strategic and wait until the announcement is made. I will go in order of all appointments, meaning my clients scheduled on March 16 will be first in line for an appointment. I will be sure to leave a voicemail if we are unable to connect. Please keep in mind if I cannot reach you the first time, you will be at risk of losing the earliest appointment slot. Also, once your appointment is made, please try your best to not reschedule. I have a new rescheduling fee of $10.

Prior to COVID-19, I had a lot of clients cancel, reschedule or no-show way too much. The time is past due for more respect and punctuality, and I would appreciate that you all read the information on the website about my policies. They will be strictly enforced, no exceptions. The policies can be found on the contact page. https://www.fbglow.com/contact

3. I will only see 3 clients a day maximum.

Your health and safety is important to me. Because I am in a small space of approximately 300 square feet, I do not want to put anyone at risk. Before and after each client, I will disinfect my studio's furniture and air. I will be sure to do this visibly so that all of my clients are comfortable and aware that my area is safe.

4. I have new hours: Tuesday thru Saturday from 11am-7pm.

I am not seeing any clients before 11am or after 7pm, and I am closed on Sundays and Mondays. When I went solo in October 2019, I had no set schedule due to an influx of clients from Groupon. I was accommodating everyone as best as I could, and I exhausted myself a great deal. Health is wealth and I cannot perform my best if I do not feel my best.

Overall, I think one thing that we have all learned from COVID-19 is gratitude. I am so grateful for all of my clients and I can't always express in words how much I love doing what I do. However, sometimes you need a break. I am no longer working everyday for 10-12 hours. I have been asked if I would perform services before/after hours for a fee and the answer is no. In between my filming, doing lashes and brows, I have much paperwork and blogging to do! Oh yeah, and sleep...maybe?

5. Please wear a mask and BYOB (Bring your own blanket).

Wearing a mask is required by law in the state of Maryland so ain't nothing to it, but to do it! PLEASE have your mask on hand for your appointment because if you don't, we can't proceed. AND THAT WOULD BE AWFUL! Also, bring your own blanket because it gets cold in my studio. I had blankets to spare, but now that this pandemic has created pandemonium where we can barely share air, let's be safe and not share blankets too. If you don't have a blanket, it's all good. If you get cold, I have a space heater.

Other essential items to bring to your appointment (optional but not required):

-Gloves

-Hand Sanitizer

-Disinfectant Wipes

6. Unfortunately, no more LIT conversations.

This one hurts me the most because I love talking with all of you! Because we will not be practice social distancing while having your lashes or brows done, we will not be able to have awesome conversations as we have done in the past. But don't worry! We get to engage before and after the session once I'm out of your face!

7. Groupon Customers - PLEASE READ (Everyone should read this for future reference)

I am no longer on Groupon as a merchant because I have had unfortunate issues concerning vouchers and refunds. Groupon should have extended the expiration dates on vouchers due to COVID-19, but if your expiration date has not been extended, please contact Groupon.

THAT'S ALL FOLKS!

New prices are in effect as of April 1, 2020. The old prices still apply to all clients who made appointments prior to April 1, 2020.

I am not doing mobile appointments. I encourage everyone to be cautious during this time.

Please stay safe and healthy! It's all about the glow!
