How to Maintain Your Lashes During COVID-19

Updated: Apr 8

Hey Glow Fam,

I hope your lashes are holding up! If not, here's a briefing on how to maintain or remove your eyelash extensions during the #CoronavirusPandemic!

If your eyelash extensions are all gone, don't worry! I've got complimentary #CoronavirusRelief lash sessions in the works! You will not be charged, so yes, it is FREE! No strings attached, however, a tip is encouraged!

1. Clean your eyelash extensions efficiently! Do not be scared to wash your face!

Just be gentle near your eyes. Your natural eyelashes protect your eyes from dirt and debris so they will recognize your eyelash extensions as such. Your eyelash extensions will fall daily regardless. There's no such thing as forever lasting lash extensions. That is the reason for lash maintenance. Again, if they're all gone that's okay. The remedy is a new fluffy set complimentary of #Corona!

2. KEEP ON BRUSHING! Please brush your eyelash extensions daily.

This is an essential task on your list of instructions. Your eyelash extensions need to be groomed as they grow out in between maintenance. Otherwise, they will make an executive decision without you and grow wildly and untamed. Some of your natural eyelashes are longer than others because they are in different growth phases. With an eyelash extension attached, they may start to hang and curl into your eye and irritate you. You want to make sure to brush them daily so that they always grow in a uniformed manner.

3. Use Lash Sealant

If you have invested in lash extensions, I recommend that you will also want to invest in a lash sealant. This product goes a long way to extend the life of the adhesive used to attach the extension to your natural lash. It locks your extensions in place for a longer period of time. I've used two different types of sealants on my clients and provided the links below for purchase. You do not have to get both. They are equally effective as they both can be used daily.

What’s the difference between these two? The Black Diamond is black, and adds a darker, bolder sheen, and the Lashscara is clear and glossy.

4. Only Use Lash-Friendly Products

Not all beauty products are okay to use with lash extensions. Be sure to stay away from waterproof mascara and any oil- or alcohol-based products or cosmetics.

5. REMOVAL: Home remedies for eyelash extension removal take a little longer than using a lash remover.

This last option is if you've lost most of your lashes and would like to try and remove the rest so you're not looking crazy!

Please note: Soap and water does nothing!

Steam and heat will soften the adhesive. Also, using olive oil, coconut oil, or castor oil is a great way to soften the adhesive. Combine the use of oil with a hot shower or face steamer, and your eyelash extensions will glide off with patience. You may have to do this more than once to be successful.

By the way, I will call all of my clients directly to reschedule all of the appointments that have been affected by the #CoronavirusPandemic. All lash packages and scheduled appointments are still held and effective for clients who made an appointment before April 1, 2020. Example: If your appointment was scheduled before April 1, 2020 for April 20, 2020, it is secured! Any questions or concerns, please send me an email.

New prices are in effect as of April 1, 2020. The old prices still apply to all clients who made appointments prior to April 1, 2020.

I am not doing mobile appointments. I encourage everyone to be cautious during this time.

Please stay safe and healthy! It's all about the glow!
